SSRG make it three in a row! Sheffield Steel Rollergirls beat the hard hitting Newcastle Rollergirls infront of a home crowd of 400+ in a very hot and sticky Ponds Forge.

Sheffield got off to a shaky start, taking some big hits from the NRG blockers and finding the ice rink-esque floor surface more than a little challenging! It was NRG that got the first points on the board, but SSRG soon got into their stride and reclaimed the lead. The penalty box was a popular hangout for skaters from both teams with several power jam situations for SSRG which helped rack up the points. Juicy Lucy wowed the crowd with her amazing speed and agility and SSRGs blockers strugged to keep track of her whereabouts!!

At half time the score was SSRG 57 – 35 NRG. Amazing hula hooping entertainment from Seduced by Circus wowed the crowd then it was time for the second period…

SSRG extended their lead with some great tactical plays, causing several out of play penalties for NRG but NRG continued to fight with true northern grit and determination right to the end. The final score was 150-73 with Juicy Lucy winning the crowd pleaser award for NRG and Rio De Jam Hero claiming the award for Sheffield!.

The After party was at the Showroom and the team awards were handed out.
